Founded in 1991, the University of Potsdam has firmly established itself within the scientific landscape. With nearly 21.000 students, it is the largest university in the Federal State of Brandenburg. The university has around 3.000 employees, among them there are more than 380 professors (around 24% of them appointed in cooperation with other institutions). The main activities of the University of Potsdam, education and research, are strongly supported by the central administration which comprises more than 750 staff members (non-academic staff).They give support to all necessary legal, administrative and financial matters.
